While the bubble is suitable to allow teams to scrimmage, this is an instructional based clinic so no games will take place. This clinic will give players the chance to work with not only the Boston College baseball staff, but many of the top college coaches from the northeast.
Each station is led by a college baseball coach with a current or former Boston College baseball player to assist in teaching.
It is a four night clinic but we understand that schedules do not always allow that to work. We encourage kids to attend at least two nights if possible.
Players that attend all four nights will work though a four night progression at their desired position s as well as having the chance to work with and be seen by over 35 college coaches from the north east.
Pitchers and Catchers Clinic: December 27th- 30th, 3: It is paramount to us that we focus on the health of the pitchers arms. Each player will have a chance to a light throw a bullpen with a college coach instructing.
Pitchers do not throw to hitters. Catchers will work with a college coach to cover all the important skills needed to catch at a higher level. Each night catchers will do drill work, throw to bases and receive instruction while catching in the bullpen sessions.
Each night the catchers will also take part in the offensive rotations. Two way players have the options to take part in both the Pitching Clinic as well the Infield and Outfield Clinic at an addition cost. There is no additional charge if a player wishes to work out at 2nd defensive position that is not pitching.
If a player wishes to workout at a different position we encourage that they attend multiple sessions. This will insure that each player works through the entire position progress for that session.
Infield and Outfield Clinic: December 27th- 30th, 5: Infielders will work on fundamental skills each night and move to a full ninety foot diamond workout.
As the clinic progresses each player will have a chance to move around the infield and work with different college coaches. The coaches will work though a progression of drills touching on all the fundamentals of infield play.
If a player wishes to work out a more than one position that option is available. Outfielders will run through a series of drills each night. The outfield station will instruct each player on the proper throwing mechanic from the outfield as well as the fundamentals of fielding ground balls and fly balls.STEM I is a two-week residential program for curious middle school students who seek to: Immerse themselves in exciting STEM subjects ; Connect with other students who love learning as much as they do.
